That’s quite a post. And it seems that you were right about generating comments and discussion from your assertions. Nice work.

So let me see- take a bunch of poorly organized work to begin with, on an operating system which is suboptimal for execution on the mainframe, and then consolidate on a platform which is 10X more expensive than what it should have been?

If the idiots who are using zSeries to consolidate workloads had understood mainframes in the first place, they would have integrated their work under real mainframe operating systems and realized the real savings. At least inefficient dogs like Linux sell engines left and right, which makes IBM happy.

Lab Director Charles Shank has instructed ITSD to reduce the number of Lab email servers to no more than 25. By May 15, ITSD will determine which email servers will remain, while the others will be converted or shut down. Each of the remaining servers will go through a certification process to ensure that cybersecurity (virus and spam) measures are in place. ITSD will review applications of those users/departments that want to maintain an email server.
